Returns logistics

This refers to the entire logistics chain for the return of goods. Especially in the mail order business it is decisive for customer service and satisfaction.

The stock is also highly dependent on returns. Depending on the size of the assortment and the return practice, up to 40% of all ordered items flow back to the retailer. In exceptional cases, the return rate can even be as high as 60%.

The most important aspect of returns logistics is a prompt credit to the customer's account. For the retailer, it makes sense that the returned goods are checked as quickly as possible, processed if necessary, repacked and then returned to stock.
