B2C - Business to Consumer

B2C is the abbreviation for Business-to-Client, Business-to-Customer or Business-to-Consumer. The number 2 ("two") is often used in English as a short version for the word "to", since both sound the same.

The term stands for communication and business relationships between companies and private individuals, i.e. customers or consumers. All processes, from customer service to sales, are summarized under this term.

The term also exists in order to differentiate it from B2B (Business to Business), i.e. trade relations between companies.

B2C also includes a company's advertising activities aimed at consumers. Due to the expansion of e-commerce, i.e. online trading, and the increasing importance of new media, the direct marketing of a company on the Internet, for example via social media platforms, is playing an increasingly important role.
