APS
(Advanced Planning Systems)
This collective name is used to describe systems for planning and decision support for the entire supply chain of a company.
The APS work closely with the associated ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems) via software. The ERP sends data to the APS, which can be used to run simulations to optimize individual processes and the overall process.
These specifications are sent back to the ERP system and implemented there. The APS enables a realistic mapping of the entire supply chain from the raw material source to the end consumer. The APS are divided into the strategic, tactical and operative levels and thus cover all relevant processes.
