QR(-Code)

QR stands for "Quick Response". Information is encoded in such a way that it can be absorbed particularly quickly by machines.

Due to the integrated error correction, the procedure is relatively insensitive and widely used in practice. The Japanese company Denso Wave developed the QR code in 1994 as a two-dimensional code. Meanwhile, there are various further developments, such as the micro QR code or the secure QR code.

Originally, the QR code was developed for marking and recording assemblies for the logistics system for Toyota. A QR code consists of a square arrangement of black and white dots that binary code the information it contains.
